Never to Far

so far away

but never to far

to not be seen

be it in your dreams

or nightmares

as real

as the here and now

for those who sleep

in that black hole

lost in time

loved eternally

inspired for life

will you stay?

sleep tight

be not afraid

the ones you love

are here with you

lay your head on your pillow

prepare a place for me

cause when you ready

I’m there

chasing rainbows

while we

dream eternally

Almost Home

the setting sun

burns deeply

into the darkest recesses

squinting at what lies before

sinuous curves cutting into the dry earth

unravelling before me

terrain is familiar

but I’m a stranger

in an unchanged world

taking the long way home

the road less travelled

carries more traffic than usual

familiar faces

are now obscured/unrecognisable

commonality destroyed

rapid lips firing soundless

machine gun bursts of polemic

I neither see, hear or understand

don't cry no more

cause soon it’s morning

finally

it dawned on me

I don’t have to travel

very far,

or at all

to get home

Embracing Demons

flight or fight

feed or fight

decision, choices

new approaches,

nurture or battle

the demons

that exist within

conflict needs resolution

become the peacemaker

restore the balance

challenge yourself

step into the shadows

embrace your demons

nurture, feed

these inner demons,

begin the journey

integration

reconciliation

inner peace

Herd Stupidity

ignorance, wisdom

two sides of the same sword

conviction, divine certainty

lends people

the will to believe

all sorts of atrocities

under some banner

herd stupidity

encourages partaking

of the kool aid,

seemingly wise people

desirous of ignorance

choosing to not see

what is evident

escape from the herd

is the only choice

to recover

ones senses

slowly,

after all

the easiest person to fool

is none other

 but yourself

Just Listen

alone at last

silence stealthily encroaches

the fog of silence

drifts closer

surrounding, enfolding

me, myself, I

this unique trinity,

striving for …

nothingness

the great disconnect

finally, at last

we are alone

to converse

with ourselves

and then,

maybe …

just listen …

to nothing

Dream On

what if nothing exists

we're all in somebody's dream

maybe a series of dreams

can we keep pretending

there is nothing wrong

should we?

that fragile delusion called reality

a thin line between

reality and imagination

with no exit in any direction

in the long run

possibly an

 insignificant difference

come on everybody

dream on, baby dream

Under Darkened Eaves

through a veil I barely see

darkness shrouding the land

shuttered windows

obstruct the view

doors firmly closed

darkened eaves hold secrets

no one drops by

there is no need

the net was my safe haven

but safety net no more

with partially opened doors

shutters always ajar

tabs can reveal more

we keep pretending

that truth is elusive

but no more

a version is always

within one’s grasp

#micropoetry No. 9

Continuing the challenge to keep writing poems of 144 haracters or less. Here are a few more #micropoems. Poetry for twitter 🙂

1.

gaze deeply

into deaths eyes

ponder on

what gazes back

2.

the myth

that one can

innocently stand by

is just that

a myth

Paradox of Shadows

live on the edge

where shadows nudge

night greets day

dark flees light

past overlooks present

a probable future

life in the penumbra

is a paradox

it is viable

pulling either way

constant conflict

to what end

seeking what

the penumbra?

contradictory interrelated elements

existing simultaneously

persisting for eternity

hither and thither

clawing, dragged back

inexorably, irreversibly

to the core

of darkness

or light
