skittish shadows, flirting with the smoke filled shadows of my mind and still my mind burns like cheap whisky coursing down my throat while the beckoning, cavernous maw of blackness approaches just another hungry mouth that needs to feed at the trough of my existence
A Day (Life) of Remembrance
via A Day (Life) of Remembrance
In this month of November, with the 11th fast approaching, when we remember the fallen, lets gave pause for thought, to the boys forced to become men before their time …. where we as a society discard our best and brightest to senseless conflicts. The hopes and disappointments of generations of young (mostly) men/boys are always dashed at the altar of political expedience and greed.
The article contains many of the poems that I have written about War …and its impact on my life, when I was forced to serve ….
Read and remember ….
All at Sea
alone adrift all at sea winds prevail and blow endless sky horizon lost in the blue searching for firmer ground white dove released in hope to return with what or not at all

Is it Dark Yet?
shadows fall darkness creeps there is something coming in the crawling dusk we will lose the day when the darkened veil achingly descends how long can we wait? beyond this veil nothingness awaits when will it be rent asunder? by whom? and when they come will they bring the morrow?

Trauma
as the blood dries beneath my nails as the metallic smell lingers in the air as my boots slip on the shit stained floor as I wipe the vomit from my shirt front removing blood-stained glasses ripping of blue blood gloves gazing across at what lies before not a beep can be heard lights fade to gray ashen faces stare back and the memory remains

Happy Birthday Bruce
Happy Birthday to The Boss …69 yesterday … thanks for the great music, heartfelt honesty and most inspiring autobiography …
A day late, but Happy Birthday The Boss, 68 yesterday. Thanks for all the great music, memories and reflections that your music continues to deliver. In refection, on those memories, I am posting a link to an article I penned earlier this year.
Some of his greatest work, in my opinion, are his three acoustic albums, they are stark, dark and raw. They claw at the very fabric of society, lifting the covers and showing the dark underbelly, that exists right in front of us, but we are at times, to blind to see.
So Happy Birthday to a great musician, artist and writer … may you continue to bless us with heartfelt and soul searching lyrics. Strength to you and love and peace to all …
