Clarity

only when we acknowledge

that we are all mad

will it all make sense

and

mysteries, contradictions

will no longer be

……..

life stands still

clarity achieved

1.

fact becomes fiction

reality becomes life

alternate is the new the norm

drink and feast

for tomorrow you die

2.

travelling into my space

the road less travelled

 dipping in and out

just visiting

a scary process

discovering what lies beneath

at my place

3.

poets, dreamers & writers

who do you talk to

and where do you go?

to those who live in

strange places

dead spaces

and

dream places?

Becoming Me

daily struggle of avoidance

under the radar over the hedge

silence, solitude

disappearing into other worlds

whilst

mired in this one

fast approaching fears

decisions pending

conscience or crowd

object or be subjected

fight or flight

kill, heal, pray

dream within a dream

hoping it never ends

but oh to soon

boys become men

awake, breathing, still dreaming

failing

dreaming of a hope once virtuous

now lost

seeking, searching

always asking

but why?

why me?

ah yes

becoming me

never ends

why should it?

Closer

closer to edge

everyday now

any day now

it draws nigh

into the void

how far

how high

dare we go beyond

the realm

dare to dream

possibilities exist

its there

within our grasp

closer and closer every day …

In Whose Name?

the evil that men do

in the name of a god

is not in god’s name

but rather

evil enacted

in their name

hypocrisy prevails

in whose name?

some faceless god?

no…….

just greed

and the face on the lucre

the victorious

the arrogant

the ungodly

there is no god of the righteous

only the greedy

might is not always right

but greed trumps

"in god's name"

is now a lament of regret

what have we become

The Ballad of Nikkie Jean

sub-titled – the ballerina assassin @nikkiejanee1972

in the still of the night

as we chase the sunset

candles flicker in the wind

the swan lies in repose

the pirouette slows

en pointe is driven home

when the deal goes down

red lips of mercury approach

the mist rises

the die is cast

the creed is done

these visions of bella donna

conquer my mind

my achilles is found

I claw my way out

of the memphis mobile

feeling blue

pill box hats

consume my dreams

the wind whispers la’ bella

while mercury vapours consume me

my time is pledged

the reaper awaits

the sad-eyed ballerina assassin

enters, riding

the 6th white horse of the apocalypse

as she drifts slowly

over the undulating lowlands

tears are falling from on high

the lips of a precious angel

delivering kisses like buttery wings

while storms roll in from afar

bringing that familiar morning smell

we oh so love

stoned and fractured

harried by the dozen and 35

the swan is lowered

to yonder depths

to rise again

à bientôt

1.

gaze deeply

into deaths eyes

ponder on

what gazes back

2.

the myth

that one can

innocently stand by

is just that

a myth

Paradox of Shadows

live on the edge

where shadows nudge

night greets day

dark flees light

past overlooks present

a probable future

life in the penumbra

is a paradox

it is viable

pulling either way

constant conflict

to what end

seeking what

the penumbra?

contradictory interrelated elements

existing simultaneously

persisting for eternity

hither and thither

clawing, dragged back

inexorably, irreversibly

to the core

of darkness

or light
